fantasymother for holding my hand through this, and giving good beta skills. I hadn't written anything for about 2 1/2 years and had some uncharacteristic neurosis while doing so. Also, thank you sooo much to my dear friend
jenah for the gorgeous banner she made me for this. Plus, it's her fault I'm anywhere near this monster!

I know, once again I was gone a while. Oy with that already, but I've been busy. But I had to comment about ( there goes the neighborhood )
Oh, btw, I LOVED Razor, so awesome. I also spent much of December watching Roswell which I very much enjoyed. I didn't like S2 as much, though not because of the dreaded Tess. I thought the show got too wacky sci-fi-ish. Which is rather amusing since I'm all about the wackadoodle sci-fi when it comes to shows like Farscape
Since there's almost no new tv anymore, boo hoo, I've decided to give Cashmere Mafia a shot. I like the cast, Miranda Otto, Frances O'Connor, Lucy Lui. Also, I think I'm going to try to catch up on Gossip Girl since several folks on the flist seem to absolutely love it.
Finally, don't let anyone ever try to convince you that Iowa won't be FREEEEEZING in January. Cause it is!
ETA ~ Oh, and I haven't seen Atonement yet. I think it might be the fact that I LOVE the book and am afraid the film won't live up to it.

So, I've lost like 35 lbs. since Labor Day, beginning of Sept for those that don't know, which is great in general. The downside is this is requiring me to replace clothes, well really it's a plus, smaller sizes, but as my forays into sewing amounted to me sewing the tip of my finger when I was about 8, I have to get all my pants hemmed that I can't buy at the right length. Which isn't much of a problem regularly, but when you're trying to have like 8 or 9 pairs of pants hemmed at once @ $10 - 12 each, it adds up.
So yesterday I saw this little sewing machine in the Target ad for $10.00, and decided to get it and try. It costs so little that if I couldn't figure it out then really, no loss. So I got it last night, got some material to experiment on, and gave it a whirl.
I just managed to hem my first pair of pants! Not with the best, nor straightest hem ever, but it is serviceable, relatively neat, and will work. So go me! So thrilled!
PS, yes,
jenah there were pics taken, I'll send you one soonish.

I hope all of y'all are having a happy, safe & wonderful Thanksgiving. Well, all y'all in the US. ;)
Otherwise, if you're not watching Dirty Sexy Money, you should. Try to catch up in some Writers Strike supporting appropriate manner. Donald Sutherland is an absolute hoot. He is hilarious, and worth watching the show just to see him sink his teeth into his scenes. Also, I just adore Samaire Armstrong & Seth Gabel as the twins, Juliet & Jeremy; and Natalie Zea as Karen. All make me laugh so much.

- Have those of y'all that watch FNL watched the "Making of S1" feature on the dvds? Scott Porter beatboxing is made of win! So funny.
- Changed my layout to something Christmasy, because it's cute and it got a bit cold here.
- Did y'all know, this? Warning, FNL casting spoiler. Makes me happy. Yes, it does.

- Y'all really do talk a lot! ;) A girl is away for a couple of days and there's pages & pages of stuff to catch up on. I'm really trying to be better, but it's hard!
This is just so stupid. I remember reading about all of this last year when the BSG pre-S3 webisodes were airing @ SciFi.com. How Sci-Fi, which is owned by NBC/Universal, didn't want to pay Ron Moore, David Eick & co., for them, just wanted them to do them as part of their preexisting contract. Which made no sense whatsoever. It's their intellectual property, it was new material, they're dreaming this stuff up so Sci-Fi has interesting original programming to entertain an audience with. If they write it, then Sci-Fi, or whomever, should pay for it. No matter where they end up *airing* it. It does make me curious about the new Farscape webisodes that Sci-Fi has ordered from Henson & Co. I guess since they're new, and this is a new contract with Henson, they're paying for them.
I was saying to
I am curious about what will happen on Spanish language stations, since Telemundo is also owned by NBC. But I think most of it's scripted programming is in the form of novelas, most of which are produced in Mexico, Brasil, Colombia, etc. Will this effect those too?
Really the stupidity of this is just infinseminal.
